Residency Fair Exhibitors This year, the American Medical Student Association will hold its annual regional conference in San Francisco at the Hotel Kabuki. Join students from 19 medical schools and 41 premedical institutions from across the West Coast in attending an event that will inspire and challenge you! Our Keynote Speakers include: Harriet Washington, author of Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation of Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present Dr. Donald Abrams, Chief of Hematology/Oncology at SFGH, Director of Clinical Programs at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine Dr. Melanie Tervalon, Director for the National Diversity Institute for Culturally Competent Care Dr. Dahlia Wasfi, an Iraqi American physician working with Global Exchange to bring awareness to the Humanitarian Cost of the War in Iraq Programming for breakout sessions will follow one of five thematic tracks: • Eliminating health disparities and promoting equity • Transforming health systems • Changing the culture of medical education: pre-med through residency • Developing activist skills • Pharm Free: removing the influence of industry marketing from clinical decision making (Saturday only) Special World AIDS Day Rally at SF Civic Center for reauthorization and reform of PEPFAR.
